What are we doing?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

SDDF<\/strong> is involved in several humanitarian programs in different sectors e.g. Education, Health & Hygiene, Access to Justice, Environment, Water & Sanitation, Poverty Alleviation, Women Rights, Child Protection, Psycho-social Support, etc. Following are the brief outlines of our programs\/projects:<\/p>

* establishing and running non formal education schools
* capacity building and supervision of teachers
* monitoring of school activities
* provision of books and relevant material
* conducting tests and exams
* organizing co & extracurricular activities
* formation of village education committees
* formation of parent teacher associations<\/p>

The students studying in the non formal schools are very vulnerable \/ poor. They cannot afford studying in paid schools. Some of them are over aged or dropped out from other schools. The non formal schools provide them with opportunities to continue their studies. The schools of the project are an additional educational service within the communities. These schools serve a very important role in gratifying the Government’s vision to increase the levels of literacy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

*establishing 30 Adult Literacy Centers
* Identifying and Capacity Building of Non Formal Teachers
* Providing basic facilities in the Adult Literacy Centers e.g. reading and writing material
* Monitoring and assessment of educational activities.<\/p>

The project contributed in increasing adult literacy rate by educating 1000 adult males and females.<\/p>

* to provide vocational training to the enrolled women in almost 30 different skills e.g. cutting, sewing, knitting, Machine and Hand Embroidery, Lamp Shade Making, Hand Made Toys, Glass Painting, Fabric Painting, Leather Work and Computer Literacy Course.
* to establish a Display Center at a central location in Abbottabad City.<\/p>

* to promote women’s home\/cottage industries i.e. Embroidery and other handicrafts.
* to encourage women folk of the remote area to earn their livelihood by their own which will contribute in their per capita income
* to introduce new female workers in this field and give new information about handicraft in related field.<\/p>
